Bass Action Charters

Bass Action Charters specializes in Lake St. Clair Smallmouth Bass fishing on the tackle of your choice. Spin, Cast, or Fly, I’ll work hard to put you in your comfort zone.  If you’re a novice, I can teach you the ins and outs of each to ensure you’ll experience an enjoyable day on the Lake!

Fishing the lake is my passion, and I’ve been doing it since I was a child. My goal is to provide you with a memorable, exciting, and rewarding day on Michigan’s 6th Great Lake. I come from a family of fishing guides that spans three generations, all with Lake St Clair as our literal backyard. I’ve been fortunate to continue this tradition with a combination of hand-me-down knowledge from great mentors, as well as many hot spots that I’ve discovered on my own.

You’ll be joining me on my 22’ Pathfinder. It’s fully rigged for fishing on Lake St Clair. The Pathfinder sports a live bait well, a release well, two coolers, a bow-mounted trolling motor (not shown in the photo), a Power Pole, comfortable seating for four, and a T-Top. And I have a Porta Potti that fits in the bow storage compartment if you prefer. It also has a smooth, dry ride and can handle anything Lake St Clair can throw at it.  With the trolling motor removed the bow also makes for an excellent casting platform for the fly fisherman.

I've been fishing for smallmouth bass on Lake St. Clair for over fifty years. I come from a family of LSC fishing guides spanning three generations. I've spent literally thousands of hours on LSC. When most kids were playing Little League and working their paper routes, I was cleaning fish and washing boats for "walk around" money. We had a small family-owned marina (or Livery as it was called at the time) on the northern reaches of Anchor Bay. I'm a licensed Great Lakes Charter Captain and a U.S.C.G. 100 Ton Master. But nothing pleases me more than putting my customers on fish and taking pics of their smiling faces with their most recent catch.
