Enjoyed the trip.ย Happy that it was a sunny, dry day.ย Lots of fishermen on the river.ย We were happy to get one sockeye, would have been happier with more.ย Sam, our guide, was friendly and handled the boat well.
Thanks sally,ย It was a little slow for kings, glad you enjoyed the trip, we did manage to get 2 that day, Thought i was gonna get skunked today saturday the 22 as at 11am no bites but the afternoon tide brought some fish and between1 and 4, eneded up limiting out with 4 kings.
Found the captain very accommodating and friendly.
Fished all day not one bite or a nibble.
Sorry about the poor fishing Ross, but fishing is fishing, and some days are good and some days are bad. All guides including me like to catch fish for our guests just as much as you do.ย With 29 years expierience of guiding on the Kenai River our success rates are are very high and while going with a 29 year veteran guide does not guarantee success it gives you the best opportunity. The heavy rain the day before clouded the water and lowered catch rates. Also to judge any fishing trip on a one day trip is not a fair assessment , most of our anglers fish for multiple days and overall will end up taking home several 50Lb boxes of fish, the day before we had 4 bites and landed 2 kings,ย today the day after your trip we hooked 7 fish and landed 3 kings.ย Book a 3-5 day fishing package like most of our anglers and you would have caught your seasonal limit of kings. Also I have been fishing since i have been 4 years old and have had lots of days skunked fishing and none of them have been the most miserable day of my life, there is a lot more to fishing than Catching.
