Unfortunately the weather made life very difficult with heavy rain and howling wind. John did everything he could to get us onto some fish in the worst conditions imaginable. Would definitely recommend it to anyone, John worked hard to give his clients their moneyโs worth.
Had a great day with John, very entertaining and informative. Unfortunately the fish went off the bite so nothing to show off to the wife. Overall was a good day ,saw some wildlife and a good fish caught by someone else. Thatโs fishing.
Could have been a great morning out with some guidance as for when to book eg tides etc. None of that from John just happy to take our money and let us fish at as his guide put it โ the worst tides of the monthโ we were very flexible with dates and times but switched to our time slot as John had double booked our original dates. Left a family of very keen and experienced anglers (from NSW waters and not realising the importance of not fishing neap tides) feeling ripped off and that John is only after your money not your enjoyment. Hats off to our guide he tried his best in difficult tides and I was clearly frustrated with what our day become. I can only feel he would be better suited working for someone who is about the experience and not just after your money. Crappy old reels that were noisy and worth about 50 bucks when brand new didnโt give much hope when we stepped on the boat either. Tried to contact John before sending this review but he didnโt respond so I guess once he has your money he doesnโt care. I understand fishing is fishing and not catching but the point of private hiring a boat is to get local knowledge and advice. None of this was forthcoming and I feel a lot of the catches in the photos are more luck than good angling. Overall spend your money elsewhere not with John.
Regards Matt
(Ps I will be interested to see if John can be bothered to replay to bad review as clearly texts and calls donโt matter to him)

Tried fishing just before a cyclone blew through. Fishing was tough, it took well over an hour to just get the bait. Good thing the afternoon charter cancelled, because we got an extra hour and a half to fish.
