Day started with captain and first mate at the boat ready to go. Within min we were on the water heading out. Boat was nice, clean and had a lot of room. We had six in our party and never were in each others way. Enough room we had 2 ladies in our party sitting on the extra large bean bags sunny themselves once they were done fishing without getting in anyone’s way. At one time everyone in the party had a fish on at the same time which never has happen to me. We caught 50+ fish that day and we end up keeping about 20. Once we got back to the dock. The first mate had the fish cleaned and iced up in a ziplock ready to go for us. I could not have asked for a better day or a nicer crew. Thanks captain Jim and Captain Jeff and first mate Bryan for a great day.

We took the 6 hour nearshore - inshore trip on the Motley Crew 36’ Florida Fishing Charters boat on Saturday September 1st. This was a few days after the Hurricane Idalia hit the gulf. My Dad 86, My brother and myself got on board and Captain Jeff and 1st mate Brian did a great job of getting us all on and stowed away for the day of fishing. The water was murky and tough to find the fish but we made a great day of it. We caught shark, grouper, spiny puffer fish, mangrove snapper, grunt, flounder, porgy, and a slew of other species. All in all I caught over 40 fish myself and we produced over 80 total for 3 guys on the boat that day. We took home a 5lb bag of nicely cleaned fillets for the fryer. If they could put us on fish in these rough conditions I think we can expect an even better trip without the weather next time. My brother John and I had a great time sharing the day with my Dad making new memories, I would recommend the Motley Crew and join them on another trip again.

We have been out on charters before in Florida every time we have went we have had a great experience this one I’m on the Fence with the boat was in good order and rods worked for what we did fishing but Were showing there age and I know salt water is hard on equipment but could have been newer . There was 5 in our group for a 6 hour off shore trip . Two were 16 teen year olds my daughter and her boyfriend and 3 adults me and my wife and sister in law . Brian the boat mate was awesome he was friendly and helped everyone on the boat from baiting rods and unhooking the fish we was catching so well done Brian !!’ But captain Jim was off due too a hip replacement and left his boat to captain Jeff who was nice but really only run the boat he did help some while we was fishing but repeatedly needed Brian’s help removing fish from the kids hooks ! Over all we had fun and that’s all we needed but if you’re a serious fisherman this might not be for you! Offshore fishing should use live bait and that on there listing that is supplied it wasn’t so we used frozen and I asked why and there answer was the marina bait shop didn’t have any that day because we was just after Christmas on the 27th of December. I question if they ever take live bait out but still we caught plenty of fish on what was provided for bait ! My big problem with the trip was 6 hr trip and left at 8:30 and was back dockside at 2:00 with a slow ride in with nicer waters than when we went out so we all felt cheated out of a full 30 mins of fishing time but your at the mercy of the captain and his watch and after we got in from fishing he docked the boat and was gone! So once again left for Brian to clean up the boat and clean our fish by himself which he said it was him job! So with that once again Brian is a awesome person and loves his job on this boat and it shows he did a great job with everything hats off to him my only regret was I tipped both $100 each at the dock but not thinking captain Jeff was just leaving all the work for Brian to finish at the end so you may want to save tips till it’s all over !
