Captain Bubba and his wife Cheryl are wonderful people. They communicated clearly before the trip. We caught stingrays, a shark and my personal largest redfish. And another fish that I can’t remember the name of but it’s supposed to be good eatin’ Very pleased with our charter.

Booked a 4 hour shark hunt as a teambuilding experience and the trip did not disappoint. Captain Bubba was fantastic! He was super engaging with all of us and had us laughing all morning. Most of us were new or novice fisherman so he was super helpful in helping us reel in our Red’s and guide the fish to the boat so he could net them and get them onboard. We had so much fun a few of us ended up buying extra tags.

Once we got back to the dock Bubba and the rest of the crew were able to filet our fish quickly so we could get on our way and cook up our fresh catch! Everyone at Salty Rods I interacted with from the booking process to the actual fishing trip was extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Salty Rods to anyone looking for a fun fishing trip out of Galveston and will 100% be using them for any future fishing charters.

We came from WV to Galveston for our honeymoon. We booked this months in advance and didn’t know what to expect.  Cheryl and Jason were nothing short of AMAZING!! 
Not only were they very helpful and knowledgeable, but personable and funny.  We caught several sharks and bait fish.  If we ever come back to Texas,  we will absolutely make sure to come back to Salty Rods for any fishing charter we do!

Bubba was awesome.  A little quiet when we left at 700am, but once he got his caffeine he was downright friendly.  Knew what he was doing and knew how to make it fun for beginners.  Brought my high schools senior son and as bunch his friends and we all really enjoyed the whole experience.  Definitely would come back again and recommend to anyone looking for a captain that knows his shit.
